Head Coach - CEO Model - Moses Lake Manta Rays

The Moses Lake Manta Rays are looking for candidates to fill the position of Head Coach for its year round USA swim team. This team was established in 1959 and is located in Moses Lake, Washington, one of the fastest growing communities in the Pacific Northwest. The team trains in an eight-lane, 25-yard pool on a year round basis, and a 25-yard by 50-meter outdoor pool from mid May to early September. We have great accessibility to these facilities with prime hours and positive community support. This is the only year round USA team in the area. We serve a population of 20,000 in the city area, and a total of 40,000 in the surrounding area.

 We are looking for a highly motivated individual that has the desire to develop a novice to elite competitive program. This club is committed to follow the USA swimming model for club development and the ASCA model for a coach-run/parent-supported team. This is a wonderful opportunity for a coach to put forth the energy necessary to develop a strong competitive swimming program and a financially rewarding career. The base salary begins at $2,500 per month with multiple opportunities to receive additional income. Medical and Dental Plans are available. Join our team! The Central Douglas County Family YMCA is searching for an energetic, enthusiastic, and growth-focused Director of Competitive Swimming/Head Coach.  The Roseburg Swim Team (RST) is becoming the Roseburg YMCA Swim Team after 50 years of competitive swimming.  RST is the only year-round swim team in the Umpqua Valley, boasting numerous All-American and multiple Olympians over the past 5 decades.  Currently we have a swimmer on the USA Swimming National Youth Team. 

Roseburg Swim Team (RST) is a USA Swimming Bronze Medal club celebrating its 50 year anniversary with the establishment of a new relationship with the local YMCA.   The newly formed Roseburg YMCA Swim Team (RYST) is seeking a qualified applicant for the position of Director of Competitive Swimming/Head Coach.  Qualified applicants should have strong coaching, leadership and communication skills.  The ideal candidate should have a passion for swimming and swimmers at all skill levels, from novice to international competitor.  RYST has tremendous growth potential and needs a motivated coach to write this new chapter of a proud tradition of swimming excellence.  The Director of Competitive Swimming/Head Coach is supervised by YMCA management and is supported by a dedicated group of parent volunteers.  

Our YMCA is located in the heart of the beautiful Umpqua Valley, in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains and 60 miles from Oregon beaches, where quality living is affordable.  It is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise renowned for the North Umpqua Trail which provides opportunities for a variety of recreational pursuits, including hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, photography, fly fishing, and sightseeing in some of the most beautiful settings found in the Pacific Northwest. Douglas County is a bicyclist’s dream location with good weather for rides through forests, river valleys, farms, and vineyards.  This beautiful area is home to many award winning wineries, the Wildlife Safari, and Umpqua Community College. Crater Lake National Park, and its outdoor recreation and adventure opportunities, is just a two and a half hour drive from the Umpqua Valley.

Preferred qualifications 
•  USA Swimming and YMCA registered coach.
•  Level 3 A.S.C.A coaching certification or 3 years of competitive coaching experience
•  CPR/AED/First Aid certification, and American Red Cross or YMCA Life Guarding certification
•  College degree
•  Familiar with the concepts behind and challenges associated with youth competitive swimming and managing a staff including assistant coaches and volunteers
•  Good working knowledge of HYTEK Team Manager/Meet Manager programs
•  Excellent oral and written communications skills.
•  Flexible, possessing an upbeat positive spirit and motivational attitude.

Compensation
This is a salaried position, based on experience and qualifications. Salary - mid to high 30’s. Benefits include Y-retirement, and health care/life insurance when eligible as per the Y employee policy.  Additional potential opportunity to coach the Roseburg High School team.

Facilities
Sept – May:   Two 25 yd indoor pools
June – Aug:  One outdoor pool 25 yd/25 m

Job Duties
•  Develop goals and programs for all levels of swimming from novice to senior level. Must stress technique, conditioning and strength training.
•  Coach competitive level swimmers.
•  Educate and supervise all assistant coaches and swimmers.
•  Develop workout and meet schedules
•  Attend all practices and meets. Responsible for overseeing all coaches and swimmers at meets.
•  Recruit and retain swimmers.
•  Arrange administrative details for team hosted meets.
•  Effectively communicate with all coaches, swimmers, parents and advisory committee members.
•  Attend and participate in advisory committee meetings.
•  Oversee meet information, meet results, meet publicity, team travel, monthly newsletter, roster, and website content.
•  Serve as a member of the leadership team of the Y with additional professional duties including member service, programs, annual campaign, and facility.

Assistant Swim Coach - Lewis & Clark College

Lewis & Clark College seeks an Assistant Swimming Coach passionate about collegiate swimming.  Lewis & Clark is a nationally-recognized private college in Portland, Oregon.  Men’s and Women’s swim teams compete in the NCAA, Division III.

Duties include coaching swimming and dryland training sessions, swim meets, and recruiting as appropriate. 

A strong candidate will have knowledge of stroke mechanics and swim training, as well as the ability to work well with young adults to foster excitement and hard work in a competitive swimming environment.  Understanding of D-III swimming a plus. 

Open until filled.  Compensation depends on experience and availability.
