Oregonswimming.org DebutsMay 23, 2005 After almost 10 years with the same URL, Oregon Swimming has launched its new website and web address, www.oregonswimming.org. Over the next couple of days we will be redirecting all traffic from the old address to the new one. Current oregonswim.org email addresses will continue to work for at least a year. However, we encourage you to start using the new addresses as soon as possible. During the transition, some disruption in email traffic may occur, however we anticipate the total disruption to be minor.
We hope you enjoy the new look of the website and as always, feel free to send your comments and suggestions to us. Electronic Timing Clinic for officialsMay 21, 2005 Julie Carpenter will be conducting an ET clinic next Saturday May 28th at the MAC. It will be from 10am to 12noon. If you are interested contact Julie at ccarpen001@aol.com or Coby at swim@oregonswim.org. You are asked to bring a calculator & a pencil.
Tom Malchow at Distance Camp at the MACMay 20, 2005 Athletes, Please join Olympian Tom Malchow and two national athletes for a distance camp including a question and answer session/ photo opportunity. We are now opening it to all athletes with a state qualifiying times. There are very few female spots open but plenty of male spots. Anyone interested please send an email to Heather Thomas by Tuesday, May 24 at Coach.heather@comcast.net or call 503-756-1690. This is on a first come first serve basis so please email soon.
Santo Condorelli Sets OSI RecordMay 13, 2005 Santo Condorelli swimming unattached broke a 14 year old record at the THSC Thunderbolt Spring Open meet. His time in the boys 9-10 50 breaststroke of 37.01 lowered the 1991 record of 39.71 set by Flurry Stone.
Due to a clerical error, we did not catch that record until today. We would like to extend our most sincere apologies for the oversight. Great swim Santo. OSI Records Set at T-Hills MeetMay 12, 2005 Four swimmers set five records at the Tualatin Hills Thunderbolt Spring Open.
Taylor Lakey of THSC accounted for two of those records. She set new standards in the 11-12 girls 200 Fly and 400 IM. In the 200 fly, Taylor swam a time of 2:33.35 bettering the 2003 time of 2:34.00 swum by Kath Liggett, also of THSC. In the 400 IM, Taylor swam 5:28.08 breaking the old record of 5:28.67 set in 2004 by Sarah Cruzan. Megan McCarroll of THSC swam a new record in the 11-12 girls 200 breaststroke. Her time of 2:50.25 betters the time of 2:56.04 swum by Rachel Lee in 2002. In the girls 11-12 200 backstroke, Nikki Cannon of VSC bettered the 2004 record of 2:36.70 with a time of 2:36.01. While one Vancouver swimmer gained an OSI record, another lost hers after 15 years. Prudence Rooker of FGSC set a new record in the 8 and under 50 breaststroke with a time of 45.59, lowering Minh Nguyen's 1990 record of 47.07. Athlete Camp in Multnomah Athletic ClubMay 6, 2005 Oregon Swimming will host an athlete camp on Saturday May 28th in the Multnomah Athletic Club. The camp is open to any registered swimmer between 11-14 years of age with at least one sectional time. The cost is $25.00 per athlete. We will only be accepting up to 7 boys and 7 girls in each age group. First come First serve basis. Each swimmer will receive gifts for attending, a raffle will be held and lunch is included. We are holding two long course workouts and 2 speakers (Including one national swimmer)will be making presentations. Applications can be found here.

Mel Zajac Jr International Meet InformationMay 3, 2005 the University of British Columbia Pacific Dolphins has made the meet information for the 42nd annual Mel Zajac Jr International swim meet available on their website.
