Canby Sprint Title Challenge cancelledJune 28, 2005 In support of the US Paralympic Nationals being held July 15-17, 2005, The Canby Swim Club is announcing the cancellation of the July 16, 2005 Canby B-C Sprint Title Challenge. While it is a mission of this meet (and our Swim Club) to extend opportunity and encouragement to the B-C swimmer, we support all aspects of competitive swimming including the Paralympic swimmers. It was not an easy decision to reach, but we felt that it is important to support both OSI 10 & U State and the Nationals. With the Nationals, resources and families would be spread too thin to hold the B-C Sprint. We encourage families and swimmers not involved in 10 & U Championships to go to (and volunteer at) the Paralympic Nationals. We will be back in the same time frame next year, though, so please plan ahead for July 2006!
New OSI RecordsJune 23, 2005 Tori Simenec of Bear Cat Swim Club had two record breaking swims at the Mt. Hood Long Course Meet. She lowered the 1997 100 fly record of Kristen Kilroy with a time of 1:06.66. She also set a new record in the 400 IM with a time of 5:21.29, lowering Taylor Lakey's month old record.
Volunteers needed for the US Paralympic NationalsJune 13, 2005 On July 15-16-17 the United States Paralympic Nationals will be held at Mt Hood CC in Gresham. These are the best physically disabled swimmers in the US and several teams from around the world. We are looking for volunteers to work at the meet. There are prelim ( starts at 9:00 ) and final ( starts at 5:00 ) sessions each day. There is a need for timers ( 16-24 per session ) and basket runners ( 8-10 per session ). This is a great opportunity to see some of the best swimmers America has to offer and more and work up close and personal with them. For more information or to sign up please email Mark Maxwell at maxwell4@teleport.com.

Some Notes About Attending Meets Outside of OregonJune 6, 2005 With the summer season, teams increasingly attend meets outside of Oregon. In order to get the results into the OSI qualifiers and top times database, please consider the following points.
1. Please make sure that your team is entered with the proper LSC designation. We import only OR results, and if your team was not entered with the LSC information, your team's information will not be imported. 2. To get the results into the database, please email Robbert van Andel with either an importable results file (commlink or SDIF) or send him the link to where he can download the results.
