Dear Oregon Swimming Officials:
On behalf of the OSAA and our 3,700 high school swimmers state-wide, I would like to thank you for all of your contributions to the sport and the student-athletes that participate in it. Many of you volunteer at your local high school meets through-out the season and at their district meets. I am lucky enough to get to spend 3 days with many of you each year as you volunteer, once again, for our state championships. Your contribution at that meet is invaluable and we truly could not do it without each and every one of you.

Special thanks to Bruce Ludwig for securing coverage for all 14 high school district meets this year and to Bill Boyce, Gene Mielke and Al Smith for serving as my state meet referees. Another very special thanks to Jacki Allender for the awesome job that she does as my OSAA Swimming Rules Interpreter.

Thanks again to each of you – I am already looking forward to next year! Take care.

Masters Needs Officials

Stanford Grand Prix Needs Officials

Here's a message requesting officials for the Grand Prix meet scheduled for April 4-6, 2008... here's the message I received:

I don't know if any swimmers from Oregon are attending the Grand Prix April 4-6th 2008 but would like any officials who think they want to spend a great week-end in the Bay Area and are qualified to officiate to join us that week. It is a national certification meet. I See entry possibilities from Oregon in the USA Swimming OME program.

The deadline for nominations for State Officials Chair are due by March 31st... several nominations have been received, but do not assume "your" choice has already been nominated. Please nominate someone if you think they are a viable candidate who will do a good job... The officials committee will take it from there to prepare the final slate.
